Ancora is a biopharmaceutical company developing novel glycoconjugate vaccines for the prevention of serious bacterial, fungal and parasitic infections. The key distinguishing feature of each of these glycoconjugate vaccines is that the carbohydrate antigens are produced using Ancora’s carbohydrate synthesis platform technology. This proprietary platform enables the generation of significant quantities of tailor-made, homogeneous, complex carbohydrates through chemical synthesis rather than traditional bio-process or enzymatic approaches. All of our carbohydrate antigens are exactly defined chemical entities that avoid the process-dependent variability and toxic contaminants that often plague the fermentation and isolation methods used to produce glycoconjugate vaccines to date.

While Ancora’s initial focus is the development of synthetic carbohydrate-based vaccines to prevent hospital-acquired bacterial and fungal infections, the Company’s technology platform is ideally suited for a broad spectrum of other medically relevant areas, including immune modulation applications, biotherapeutic modification, drug delivery and targeting, and nutraceuticals.

Ancora is building short term and long term value by establishing partnerships and collaborations in both vaccine and non-vaccine fields, and strategic carbohydrate synthesis/supply agreements.
